DS3 backstabs still were possible but not janky and annoying, where there's basically no chance of me getting backstab wakeup chained in DS3. I think backstab wakeup chains are stupid. The mechanics are finicky, think of it as a high risk high reward mechanic. You're either successful and deal big damage or you get unlucky and potentially receive big damage. Just keep practicing. They are finicky and you are bad. But thats no problem. You just gotta learn how to do it.
