For a beginner army I would recommend Ironjawz, Mawtribes, Flesh Eater Courts, and Fyreslayers. If you like Stormcast, paint them as Astral Templars. They’re essentially the equivalent of Space Wolves. The book Hamilcar: Champion of the Gods gives a great feel for them.
Never collect an army you don't like the look/feel of. Some armies have way bigger model ranges / options. Meaning you can have a lot more variation. Cities of Sigmar is a prime example. They might not be the best - but if you want shooting you got it, if you want elves who chop things up on big monsters, bam, you got it. Worth a thought when
500 Point Starter list. I'm new to AoS 3 (and Warhammer) and would like to build a 500 point Kruleboyz starter army. I have the Dominion box set, but not sure what to assemble and start with first for a decent 500 point set. Will be playing against a 500 point Stormcast list from the Dominion box. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks! 😎👍
The warpgnaw may be the best monster in our book. For 275 pts you get 4 rend -2 attacks that often do 6 damage with flaming weapon, which is just fantastic. Skaven don't really have that much that's more than rend 1. Additionally he's masterclan for 5+ command point retain, a monster, a 2 caster, and moves 12 inches.
Which includes Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, D&D, Board Games and everything else that involves dice, boards, cards and a table. A hobbyist, player, and collector of miniatures and games, Adam's current obsession are his Death Armies for Age of Sigmar, his Blood Angels and Tyranids for 40k, and his ever growing Arkham Horror: The Card Game
Age of Sigmar players will recognize this name, and he was, indeed, a lord of the dead, though in Warhammer Fantasy he was not as powerful as he would become in Age of Sigmar. He was the master of death magic. He had died and been reborn multiple times, and Nagash came back this time in his most powerful form.

Just to go over everything for posterity's sake: - Allies are limited to 1 unit per 4 units in your army list (25%). - Every faction has a specific list of other factions it can pull allies from. - In matched play, they are additionally limited to a points limit: all allies must fit within 200/1000, 400/2000, 500/
Warhammer Age of Sigmar’s popularity pales in comparison to Warhammer 40,000 here in the United States, but Games Workshop’s third edition of the tabletop wargame could help improve that.
You will have a bit of a samey feel to your army though due to the lack of variety in poses and will need to do some work to create your command models. So, a 1K army list might look like this: Allegiance: Slaves to Darkness. – Damned Legion: Ravagers. – Grand Strategy: Hold the Line. – Triumphs:
