I just do not trust myself to properly adjust, and orientate, an LED bulb in our standard reflector housing headlights, on top of which, If you choose the wrong one, (among the many thousands available), it will be many times brighter right in front of the car, but not give you as much distance down the road, as a great halogen bulb. 24 August 2018. Open the bonnet and remove the two Torx screws holding the headlight in place, then lift the headlight forward and out of the car. Unplug the wiring connector on the back, then remove the rubber boot weather seal on the back of the headlight.

thanks for your input on this. found the problem. last year i had a front end accident and it had 2 new headlights, the monkey who put it back together didnt put the plugs to the level motors back in, they were just shoved in a hole in the plastic!!! duh. anyway plugged in correct now and the garage can now recheck the headlight adjustment

Country. 23 Dec 2009. #3. I have a later model with Xenons but the adjustment should be the same. 1 of the screws adjusts the light left to right and the other adjusts up and down. It does take several turns before you notice the lights adjusting. Face the car at a wall approx 20 metres away and adjust until the light hits the wall.
Posted July 25, 2019. Take the headlight unit out and check that no wires have broken loose from the connector block which controls the leveling. They can be reattached even though its a bit fiddly to do. I have had 2 wires break loose which I have repaired myself. New headlight from ford is 660 quid.

The Focus doesn't have a seperate adjustment for high and low beam - just 2 screws, up and down and left and right which adjusts both low and high beam at the same time. As for the lights being from a left hand drive model rather than a right hand drive model, is not the case.
Make sure the key is set to OFF. Turn the headlight switch off. Turn the switch back to ON, then OFF again. Turn the switch back to the Auto position. Make sure the lights come on. Wait for the amount of time you want the headlights to stay on, then turn the switch back to OFF once more. The headlight delay should now be programmed. TkFsG.
